Welcome!
I’m Lauren, and I’m so glad that you’re here! I’m a born and raised Texan and Latina (I know, my name is SO Latina). I’m a chaotic bookworm who likes to make plans in pencil. The longer I live, the more I realize, I need to make my plans in pencil. Growing up, I intended to obtain a bachelor’s degree, attend law school, establish a career and then maybe think about a family. Well, the scriptures are true, I make plans, but the Lord directs my path. I did get my bachelors degree and a personal training certification, but I never went to law school. I became a third-grade teacher and I can’t imagine loving a profession more! Seriously, if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.
After college, in 2012, I married my best friend, partner in crime and constant inspiration. I would never be who I am today without this man. He is the most committed person I’ve ever met and I’m inspired by him daily. He is one of those people who is good at everything, a real life renaissance man. He is a software engineer and helps me with a lot of the technical side of this site.
I love routines, schedules, having things clean and I get SUPER excited shopping for office supplies and anything that could potentially be used for organizing. On the other hand, I like to make messes, experiment, be spontaneous and purposefully jump in muddy puddles. I desire to have adventures, move out of my comfort zone and fearlessly run into every unknown! However, I can struggle with actually doing that. This is where Imperfect Adventures was born.
Why “Imperfect Adventures?”
Let me be real with you for a minute, I don’t want to fail at anything. It’s embarrassing and makes me feel bad! After soul-searching and prayer on the subject, here is my theory; it’s in the perspective. Am I looking at myself and how great I want to be, or at God and his grace that covers me? Am I looking with envy on the mountaintops, without appreciating the road full of adventures? I call this site Imperfect Adventures, because I have to be alright with making mistakes and putting my imperfections out there, to move forward in all the adventures that God has for me.
